About the Project
Project Overview
SPIN Nallamala Forest Encroachment Detection combines satellite-derived spectral indices with DigiPIN 7-class land classification to flag change attributed to construction, logging, mining, agriculture, or natural disturbance. Users click a map point; the system fetches dual-epoch imagery, classifies land cover, scores severity, and exports report, CSV, or GeoJSON.
Problem Statement
Forest departments, researchers, and enforcement teams need a fast way to check a location for illegal mining, logging, agricultural expansion, or settlement growth without manual multi-year GIS processing.
Solution
Single-click end-to-end geospatial analysis that quantifies forest loss by encroachment type, ranks hotspots, and keeps simulated versus verified satellite data clearly distinguished.
Target Users
- Forest departments
- Enforcement teams
- Researchers
- Conservation agencies
Key Features
Two-Epoch Change Detection
Compares current land cover against the same location eight years earlier.
DigiPIN Classification
Seven land classes including water, built-up, dense forest, agriculture, and mining.
Hotspot Scoring
Critical, High, Medium, or Low severity ranking by encroachment type.
Export Dashboards
Charts plus report, CSV, and GeoJSON exports for enforcement workflows.
Value Proposition
Click-to-analyse forest intelligence that ranks encroachment hotspots and quantifies loss by type without manual GIS work.
